july 3rd - a little elbow grease

Off to Terhune Orchards for some blueberry picking. What started as a fun way to get the kids out of the house this morning, ended with a lesson in what it is like to be a migrant worker. God bless the Dreamers. It was so hot that we were all sweating out of every pore of our bodies. We even put Lucy in the cool down station and finished up with some apple cider slushies. Made it home in time to put the kids to work again. The whole family pitched in to clean our garage door. GemGem did the top and Alex was going to do the windows...until lightning started. Probably best not to let the six year old up on an aluminum ladder. We got a crazy storm...and since there was no work left to do, the kids passed out cold before dinner. Alex did wake up in time to eat his entire crab cake that he picked out at Whole Foods.
