The girls tidied up their house this afternoon to get it ready for winter. Lots of sweeping and hosing things down. They took it very seriously and it involved lots of communication. We went to Tommy and Maria’s tonight to hang out for a bit and have dinner. The scary clown is Gemma. Terrifying.
october 29th - parade traditions
The weather was super spotty today, but last minute call came in that the CP parade would happen outside. It was slightly abbreviated this year, but still fun to see the kids get to strut in their costumes. Lucy’s parade was virtual, but we were sent some keeper photos of her whole class dressed up. Unfortunately, the YMCA town parade was canceled, but we didn’t let it get in the way of our traditional post-parade dinner at the grill. A fun night with plenty of wine…as evidenced by Mommy’s early departure to bed.
october 28th - pumpkin craft
Bringing it home with one more day of crafts before tomorrow’s parade. Miss Lexi really makes a big deal of holidays and we lover her for it.
october 27th - gym day
Lucy had to account for her day of gymnastics today, so it was just her favorite boots. Gemma was a beauty this morning with her giant bow.
october 25th - countdown begins
Last week before Halloween and Lucy’s commitment to wearing a spooky-inspired outfit is in full effect…
october 24th - photoshoot
We had a dry run of the halloween costumes today so we could be sure to catch a couple of these three in their special outfits. Gemma and Lucy decided to dress as characters from descendants. Gem was Audrey, the queen of mean, and Lucy was none other than Uma. Alex is getting to cool for school, so he was just a scary skateboarder. All super pumped to go trick or treating…still a week to wait.
october 23rd - burger time
Mommy and Lucy made some delightful halloween cookies this afternoon to bring to dinner at Uncle Frank and Aunt Amy’s house. Lucy had a culinary juices flowing all day today and was pitching in all over the place. The intermittent rewards helped.
october 22nd - beeps pizzeria
Beeps and Grandpa came over tonight for a little homemade pizza construction and drinks. The kids finally got to give Grandpa his birthday cards they made…better late than never.
october 21st - busy day
Beautiful day so we hit some snacks and Thomas’s in town for afternoon fun. The kids love to run around in the school yard next to the ice cream shop…or the sugar just takes over. Uncle Frank and Aunt Amy came to meet us for dinner and we walked into an impromptu solo guitar act playing in Palmer Square. Lucy decided the show was just for her and was on the verge of making requests.
october 20th - strike it
Lucy giving Mommy her best pre-tomastics (aka gymnastics) poses in her one-piece…
october 19th - terhune again
Daddy’s department at work had a fall festival to get people back together outside in a safe environment. Back at Terhune where one of the pumpkin entrants was made as a dedication to Daddy’s team. Somehow did not receive any proceeds from their prize money…not cool.
october 18th - goin’ solo
Gemma had the sniffles today, so Big Al went solo to school today. He would never admit it, but he missed Gemma.
october 17th - soccer and sauce
Alex had a game that was a little more local than usual and Lucy got to play with her ‘soccer buddy’…lots of apple peeling and sauce making when we got home. Lucy was a bug helper. Alex and Gemma only offered taste testing services.
october 16th - apple picking imbalance
Somehow it cost four times as much when you pick your own apples than if you just buy them…a real head scratcher. The extra cost must be the going rate for getting so many great pictures of your kids. Or due to all the merchandise the kids ate along the way. Lots of fun at Terhune and then we made it out to Peddler’s Village for their fall festival. The smell coming from Nina’s Waffles made it a must.
october 15th - feeling festive
Lucy’s class is all in on halloween preparations and she loves it. I think Halloween may be one of her favorites right now.
