april 3rd - one special lady 🗽

We started the day in our underpants and checked off multiple modes of transportation by lunchtime. All the kids did a great job on our adventure through the NYC underground. We got a little slowed down looking for handicap entries/exits but made it down to Battery Park on time (only one transfer at Grand Central). Got fast-tracked through security...thank you Lucy...and on the first ferry out to Liberty Island. Both kids were really excited to see Lady Liberty...Alex because it is a famous landmark and Gemma because it is in the movie Leap and because it is a “gayle” statue.

Our return ferry arrived back in Battery Park just as the skies opened up. Praise Jesus for giving us just enough time to get there and back unscathed. Lucy was losing it and we found a nice hotel lobby for a break. After lunch, we were in transport mode number three headed uptown. The Museum of Natural History had a line of people under umbrellas five blocks long so we ducked into the NYC Historical Society. It was a small museum focused on the history of NY and served the purpose of keeping the kids occupied until dinner a couple blocks away. Our dinner at Red Farm was fantastic. Alex loved the dumplings and Gemma talked about the dark chocolate pudding for days.
