april 9th - lock 31 canal (389)

A really cool short hike today at the D&H Canal Park at Lock 31. The Delaware & Hudson Canal is a 108-mile-long civil engineering project that was built by hand to transport coal from Pennsylvania mines to the Hudson River at Kingston, New York and on to NYC. Crazy interesting (at least for Daddy)…the kids were mostly interested in stealing Daddy’s sandwich and throwing rocks.

We went to Gresham’s Chop House for dinner tonight and had a great outside table overlooking Lake Wallenpaupack. Somehow we were made aware that Gresham’s ice cream was opening for the season tonight, so we made a pit stop on the way home.
