Everyone was fired up this morning to get downstairs and see if the big guy came to town. Alex was especially excited to the point that he may have peed a little while he was trying to get everyone else out of bed. Pure magic seeing them all come down and run toward their present from Santa. Alex loved his fishing poles, Gemma sat right at he desk, and Lucy spun around the house on her scooter...until she realized Santa didn’t finish his cookies and she ate all the floaters.
Alex and Gemma got Daddy new mugs with their own self-portrait art. Mommy got some new plate charms, a cool centerpiece, and some flashy earrings from the kids. They were so excited to give Daddy his new watch (“it’s for your birthday too”) and Mommy picked up some new diamonds for her collection. 20th Christmas together was nice to all of us. The present of the year had to be Alex’s basketball net. He was almost the first 7 year old to have a massive coronary when he saw it for the first time.
Off to Beeps and Grandpa’s for a delicious brunch and too much champagne. The kids got even more spoiled by Beeps than they did by Santa. Lucy’s love for her new sleeping bag was unparalleled. After dinner, Mommy put on her Christmas outfit and we continued spreading Christmas cheer at Uncle Ryan and Aunt Erin’s for the Burger cousin celebration. Lots more presents, lots more drinks, lots more fun! Twas a perfect day all around.
