It seems like only yesterday that we were driving to the hospital in the freezing cold after a polar vortex to meet you. Mommy had already gotten to know you and your nighttime karate kicks very well, which makes it perfectly reasonable that Daddy got to unilaterally decide to name you Lucy. The year has flown by and Lucy’s awesomeness is a big reason why...such an amazing baby and she took it easy on us for the most part.
We had a great morning celebrating Lucy’s milestone and watching her play on her slide. Alex was really excited for her to see it and the balloons he meticulously organized. Mommy made some birthday pancakes and we sang to Lucy while she came close to losing her eyebrows on the candle.
Being born on Friday comes with a one year birthday party on your special day, and Mommy made it extra special with all the winter ONEderland decorations. A slight underestimation on the number of munchkins it takes to make a tree, but I don’t think anyone knows the true answer. Mommy called an audible and the party was saved. Lots of fun and lots of sweets. Lucy destroyed her birthday cake like a boss and hit the sack. Alex and Gemma were up until midnight continuing the party. Can’t wait to see what this year brings for Ms. Lucy Lu.
