We are back up at the lake for another ski weekend. This time with Gemma and Lucy’s friends, Emma and Caroline.
january 19th - take me to your leader
Lucy had some fun with Q-tips this morning and she is now big and does not need help. Daddy is now a minister, as recognized by the Universal Life Church and the internet.
january 18th - this is eight
Our GemGem is eight years old and now has very strict expectations for her birthday. She requested shake shack for dinner and, instead of a cake, she wanted Beeps’ banana cream pie. We were able to comply with all requests and she had an amazing day.
january 17th - hiking out
Daddy and Uncle Todd had to transport all the stuff up to the top of the hill through 10 inches of snow…after digging out the cars that were plowed in by the POA. Very little gratitude for the work. Eventually we made it out after the kids had a chance to play in the snow. Just home in time for Mommy to throw together birthday number 2!
january 16th - balmy
A little warmer today so we were able to get a couple more people out to the slopes. Mommy stayed behind with the littles and kept them occupied. Lots of crafts today and indoor activities, as the snow rolled in and came down hard. Daddy and Uncle Todd had to move the cars up to the top to ensure we would be able to get out tomorrow. Crazy snow!
january 15th - skeleton crew
Feels like -21. Holy Christ. Did not stop the Moms from getting out for their walk, which conveniently came right when it was time to serve seven kids a meal. It was not worth taking all the kids out to the slopes, but Alex and Lila were all in. Daddy and Uncle Todd took the two of them over for a short day to get Lila fully immersed. We grabbed a quick bite and beers before heading back in time to watch the Eagles lose their first found playoff game. Bummer but not unexpected. Gemma got some early birthday love:)
january 14th - skiing drebys
The Dreby clan made it up late last night for us to get an early start this morning. Everyone was excited (and mildly frozen) at the beginning of the day. Some survived to fight another day, some did not. Kyle and especially Lila picked it up very quickly, while Sienna is more of an après ski type of girl and Hailey was more of an obstacle on the slopes. They all still got a good lunch and lots of smiles out of the day. Slightly warmer weather for their first time out may have been helpful.
january 13th - getting stoked for ski season
Spent some time walking Princeton campus today and running some last minute errands for the upcoming holiday weekend. Made it up to the lake this evening just in time to make a fire and enjoy. The forecast for this weekend is “cold as a bastard.” Facemasks and hand warmers required.
january 12th - road test
mommy and Daddy got to go see the wedding venue for Uncle Frank and Aunt Amy this evening and sample all the potential choices for dinner. Lots of yummy selections and, more importantly, wine.
january 11th - birthday girls
Why not celebrate again? Grandmom has a January birthday too, so…let them eat cake!
january 10th - holding on
Lucy has not wanted to let go of her crown or her birthday vibes. Until next year…
