Chef Gemma whipped up some snowman pancakes this morning for the whole family. The white chocolate chips were surprising delicious mixed in the pancakes. We had a pasta night (everyone’s favorite) before listening in the evening mass and opening some presents. Lots of fun homemade presents from the kids and they all exchanged their gifts to each other…big smiles! Gemma tucked us into bed with a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’.
december 23rd - couch kinda day
Lots of couch time snuggling, forting, and snoozing. Lucy made an appearance at the dentist office for a glamorous cleaning. She really loved it. Strange child.
december 22nd - first christmas
Gramps and Grandmum came to Princeton to kickoff the Christmas celebrations. New christmas PJs were a hit but the kids were really excited about ski passes…now we just need some snow.
december 21st - lunch date
Best lunch date EVER!!! Daddy and Lucy went to Kristine’s for an extended lunch, good chats, and the chocolate soufflĂ©, of course.
december 20th - melted cheese
Morning of regret and the mandatory grilled cheese to be able to function in society. Mommy did manage to walk the kids to school and get some fresh air.
december 19th - long awaited lights (minus 1)
Lots of cookie baking to bring some fun stuff for our delayed Dreby lightshow night. Everyone loves Mommy’s creations. We were all so excited to finally be doing the lightshow that everyone went a little overboard. Especially Mommy on the wine, as she had to tap out of the actual show. The idea of being confined in the car with kids bouncing around screaming was too much for her level of wine intake. Post-casualty and one man down, we braved the course and the kids had the time of their lives.
december 18th - girls vs. boys
Mommy and the girls were out for a girl day of shopping, so Daddy and Alex went out for lunch. They sent a picture of lunch at Chick-fil-A. We sent a picture of our oysters at the grill. Boys win!
december 17th - more decorating
We may have single handedly caused a sugar shortage around the globe with all of our crafts. Tonight was gingerbread houses…or in Alex’s case a gingerbread stadium.
december 16th - cookie fun
These were designed for utility versus taste, but they were loads of fun watching the kids decide how they would decorate each one. Gemma even used her leftover icing to give herself a little goatee and somehow a french accent.
december 15th - staying occupied
Mommy is back traveling to nyc, so Daddy is pulling out toys and girts we forgot we had. Today was a building project of one of the most poorly designed houses in the developed world. Each piece, which should have snapped together, had to be glued in place. Productive day at work.
december 14th - rocks
The lake project has progressed to flat backfill and retaining wall construction. It looks so cold there on our cameras while we are watching them work. Better them than us:)
