october 23rd - friday fun (221)

Beeps and Grandpa came by for some drinks and late dinner by the fire. The weather was perfect and Daddy got a rager going in the firepit that kept the whole backyard warm.

october 22nd - foxy (220)

Mommy and Lucy saw two foxes today at Lucy’s school. She says, “if they come close, my will kick them in the face.”  Alex had a playdate at Makani’s house today and got some Free Halo ice cream from Makani’s older brother who was exercising his employee options. He was so excited to go over and hang with all his friends.

october 21st - fall vibes (219)

Morning fires by the breakfast table to keep us from shivering our way through the most important meal of the day. Plenty of mums for Gemma to sit and pose next to on the front porch. So many damn leaves on our lawn, I can’t take it!

october 20th - lucy (218)

This one is absolutely hilarious these days, as she has full on conversations, dances whenever she hears music, and belts out her favorite songs. We see deer every day on the way into her school parking lot and she truly believes they just showed up to see her off to school. Gemma hasn’t been feeling well since she was sent home from school and had to get a “peace of mind” covid test. Lucy tried to make her all better.

october 19th - safety first (217)

Cannot quite tell but it seems like Lucy is protecting herself with some hand coverings while playing at school today. She is taking it to some next level thinking.

october 18th - trimmed (216)

Alex finally got a haircut to tame that wild hair helmet he has been growing the last couple months. Mommy is not a fan of having to cut his hair because it ends up being a full contact sport. We got a reload on our firewood supply just in time for the great fall fire weather.

october 17th - princesses (215)

Basketball morning for Alex and a little dress up in the afternoon. Gemma went on a big shopping trip with Mommy and picked up a few goodies for herself.

october 16th - adult night (214)

Mommy and Daddy took Uncle Frank and Aunt Amy out to celebrate their engagement tonight. The kids were very excited they had a night to hang out with Moss Walsh. Gemma was especially thrilled to see her when she arrived at our house. Dinner was pretty fabulous. Time to ourselves was even better.

october 15th - spooky spirit (213)

Miss Wert brought the kids some haunted gingerbread houses to make today during their breaks from remote learning. Thankfully the weather has been really great, so they were able to manufacture them outside. Daddy got to take Gem to gymnastics tonight while Mommy did girls night and Beeps hung with Alex and Lucy. She was very proud to show off all of her moves and would wave to Daddy every few minutes to make sure I was paying attention.

october 14th - pink boot (212)

Lucy took the idea of a golden boot award to a new level today with her pink cowboy boots while playing soccer with Alex. She got a lot of attention from everyone at the field today as she was a fashion standout.

october 13th - boot weather (211)

Lucy broke out her favorite footwear for a pretty crappy day. Waiting outside in line to enter the building has become the new norm now that everyone is back in the routine. Grandmom Burger came over today to do some Halloween crafts and have dinner with the kiddies.

october 12th - hybrid time (210)

Alex had his first in-person day of school today and he was super pumped to walk. They made it to the driveway with their umbrellas, but the wind was pretty gusty, so we had to call an audible. He was disappointed that we had to drive but still so excited to go in and see his friends.

october 11th - color (209)

We had breakfast at the ski hill cafe this morning so we could get in a good hike up to the top. Somehow the colors today were even more amazing than yesterday. Went for a walk around the lake take in some views and Lucy saw a unicorn. Got in one last boat ride (Alex was our driver) and watched the Eagles get their butts kicked before we went back to Princeton.  Small tears from Mommy pulling out of the driveway, but big smiles when we opened up our mail:)

october 10th - lake weather (208)

The kids were very happy that they packed their heavy pajama lounge wear for the weekend because it was a little brisk in the morning and evening. They used our shipping boxes to keep themselves busy for hours...the joys of being off the grid. Last weekend before the boat comes out of the water, so we tried to maximize getting out and taking in the lake views. We are pretty much the only people here, so we had the whole lake to ourselves. Daddy broke out the chainsaw and chopped up lots of downed trees and branches. Spent most of the day outside with a good fire going, drinking some adult beverages, and watching the kids play. Alex and Gemma worked together to build their very own stone totem. Lucy mostly danced but she didn’t miss an opportunity to get in on the picture.
