september 22nd - joys of living life (190)

She has friends, a social life, interaction with real humans, and gets to break bread three times a day with her pals. We are all jealous. She flaunts it in our faces.

september 21st - piggy tails (189)

Lucy is the only one leaving the house, so she actually gets dressed up and has her hair done by Mommy every day. She is now old enough (and demanding enough) to make her own requests. This is one of her faves.

september 20th - geb productions (188)

Gemma choreographed a whole show with Lucy today, which included singing, dancing, and percussion. Lucy did a great job following directions, but perhaps took a little more time than expected for her drum solo. Alex had to draw his annual self-portrait for school this week and Gemma opted for a “Lucy Ghost.”

september 19th - more responsibility (187)

Capped off the week with one more day of activity as Alex started Saturday morning basketball. We are now at four nights/days per week with somewhere to be. Hopefully, Lucy is a sports prodigy and can play on one of Alex or Gemma’s teams when she gets older because we are running out of days. At least basketball has a nearby jungle gym for the girls to stay busy.

september 18th - friyay (186)

We made it through the first week and we didn’t lose any children or much more of our sanity. We took the kids to Ski Barn this afternoon to get fitted for their ski rentals for the season. It was really funny watching them walk around in their boots...especially Lucy, who seems to have it mastered. Spent the night at the Drebys trading war stories and letting the kids run around and play.

september 17th - accessorized (185)

Lucy insisted on wearing her purse to school because “my stuff in there.”  All the women in the office think she is hilarious. Gem started gymnastics today and she was super pumped. She has been so excited for it since we signed her up and she did not disappoint.

september 16th - soccer parents (184)

Alex started soccer today so we had some back-to-backers for our new Wednesday routine. Gemma and Lucy built their own play fort/house in the basement. Complete with a cellphone charging station and chairs for two at the table.

september 15th - thirteen years (183)

Mommy and Daddy’s anniversary today and we celebrated with a cup of coffee...because that’s about as much energy as we have right now. Gemma is back on her virtual lunch dates with friends and Lucy is reuniting with some of her favorite school time toys.

september 14th - first day (182)

The school year begins and the kids are still at home doing remote learning, with exception of Lucy who went back into the wild. They were all really excited this morning so it was good that we had positive vibes to kick this thing off. Ms. Walsh was with us for the first day today and she is really awesome with Alex and Gemma...keeping them focused and acting as the IT helpdesk. Mommy got their workstations all prepared last night, so it was like Christmas (not really) morning for them to come down and see where they will spend their days. Gemma had her own private cheering section tonight for her first day of soccer...she was really excited to see her friends in “real life.”

september 13th - tradition (181)

The day before school tradition of going out for lunch on the square continues...slight change of venue today to Mistral. They had tiny little living room tables constructed and they opened earlier so we could get home for the Eagles game. Lucy got to join us this year because of the Monday school start and she was super proud to be a big kid.  Great brunch, great wine, great nap. Cannot believe the school year starts tomorrow. Alex is super pumped...even laid out his outfit.
