august 27th - the boss (164)

Lucy pretty much runs the household...at least in her opinion. Today, she had Alex swinging her in the hammock for a good 45 minutes. Eventually, he pulled up a chair so he could sit down while he swung the queen.

august 26th - exploration (163)

We took a family bike ride today around the lake and made a stop to explore the ski area a little bit. Walked to the top of the ski hill....daddy had to carry Lucy...fun. It was fun watching the kids running around through the long grass. The tubing hill looks like it is going to be a lot of fun once we get some snow.

august 25th - ribbits (162)

Alex and Gemma love walking to the top of the driveway and seeing what animals we can find. There are tons of frogs in the drains that run along the roads and Lucy enjoys screaming ‘ribbit’ at them. Alex was down in one of the rocky areas and a snake slithered right up near his leg...he says “jesus christ look at this snake gemma”...she says “holy shit it’s right near your leg”...proud parents.

august 24th - not so bad monday (161)

Destiny is back to school so we are just wining it this week. Daddy had less meetings so we got to play a bunch today and got out on the boat for some spins around the lake. Wine taste better on Monday.

august 23rd - work continues (160)

Mommy is continuing to redefine our space with some easy tweaks and Lucy got in on the action. She was really helpful scrubbing some things that eventually just got thrown away...but she had loads of fun doing it with Mommy. The girls were Daddy’s big helpers at the hardware store for the 10th trip this week, so they got a special treat.

august 22nd - best saturday ever (159)

Mommy and Alex got out for a bike ride this morning before we went out to run some errands and hit the hardware store. Alex was obsessed with a hook and ring game at the restaurant last night, so he was begging Daddy to build one in our yard...simple design, hours of keeping him busy. We anchored the boat in a cove today and just hung out, swam, floated, and watched the day go by. Since we didn’t have any guests this weekend, we got a lot of stuff done around the house...lots of painting!

august 21st - light & smiles (158)

It took Lucy a while this morning to detach herself from the giant croissant that she was carrying around. Once her favorite song came on, she dropped it and danced her heart out. Amazing day on the water and we really enjoyed watching the kids just play. We went out to dinner at The Boat House on Lake Wallenpaupack, so the girls had an excuse to get dressed up. Lucy was very proud of her jumper and “mine purse.”  A little Gresham’s and a sunset to top it off.
