june 25th - mine wear daddy’s hat (101)

Lucy was very proud of herself for stealing Daddy’s hat today. She told me that she looks better in it than Daddy.

june 24th - the drought is over (100)

It has been a long time since the kids have gotten to hang with Grandmom Burger. Today, she was able to come over and watch the kids for the day. They mostly wanted to play outside and roll in the grass...fun!

june 23rd - envy (99)

Gemma had a playdate at her friend, Pippa’s, house today and Alex was extremely jealous that Gem was going swimming. He got to hang out with Daddy, but the pool was missing. He made sure he went with Mommy to pick Gemma up in the afternoon and he got to take a dip. Successful day for Big Al. Awesome day for Gemma to hang with another human her age.

june 22nd - like a glove (98)

It is as if the stairs were manufactured specifically for her body to fit...

june 21st - best fathers’ day (97)

Daddy got a very sweet wake up call from all the kids this morning for some father’s day love. Gemma and Lucy came with presents to open. Gemma and Alex painted really cool pictures for Daddy and had some gigantic cards.  Gemma made Daddy a photo book of lots of pictures of her and Daddy and she said “my present is so good, it is going to make you cry Daddy”...it did!

We went for a bike ride around the neighborhood, had a picnic lunch on Princeton’s campus, ice cream at halo pub, and played some hide & seek. Alex won the prize for best hiding spot. I literally walked right under him like five times. Daddy got in a good few hours of framing Gemma’s playhouse today too, which is progressing nicely (and slowly).

june 20th - nature (96)

We got out for a long bike ride today with the kids and hit the canal path up in Rocky Hill. Alex and Mommy spotted a bald Eagle just hanging out in a tree right next to us. We stopped to salute it and sing the national anthem.

june 19th - date night (95)

Another day to hang with Gramps and Grandmum before they head back to Lancaster. Beeps came over just in time tonight because she spotted the ice cream truck making rounds in the neighborhood. Our neighbor, Tina, bought all the kids some ice cream as a special treat. Mommy and Daddy went on our first date night in months. Our attempt to go to Brick Farm Tavern was spoiled by rain, so we ended up back in Princeton at The Meeting House. Weird experiencing dining out this way, but the wine still works!

june 18th - belated (94)

Gramps and Grandmum came into Princeton for some kid time and we got to celebrate Grandmum’s birthday a little late. Alex and Gramps got to ride bikes together and Alex got to show Gramps around town and campus. Somehow they always ended up at the ice cream shop.

june 17th - studious (93)

Gemma has officially wrapped Kindergarten and she is feeling super smart with her character glasses and smoking jacket. We had a family walk to the grocery store tonight and the kids got to run around the courtyard for a while to burn off some energy.

june 16th - school’s out (92)

Well, the last few months have been anything but normal, however, we didn’t let it stop us from taking some school’s out photos of the kids. Gemma got all dressed up for the occasion and Alex did not (shocker). Interesting to see how much they have grown since the start of the year. Good thing the camera can’t capture the impact COVID is having on their emotional wellness :(...they should survive.

june 15th - completion (91)

Alex had his “drive-by” last day of school today where he got to go through and say goodby to his teachers and pick up his stuff. Lucy can now touch the ground on her balance bike, so it’s only a matter of time before she is zipping around town.  Daddy finished the bathroom!  Thank god.

june 14th - twenty (90)

Alex hit his all time high mileage count today on a ride to Beeps and Grandpa’s house. We took a bit of a roundabout route, which enabled us to get more miles. Alex was tracking them very closely and giving us a mileage check in on a frequent basis. We actually did between 19 and 20, but still broke his record. Lucy and Gemma were just there for the donuts. Gem was in a rush to go home, put on her “pa-kini” and “get her sun on”....ummm yeah.
