Lucy is now a monster on her scooter. Likely due to the form...
may 30th - field day (75)
Today was the greatest day in the history of Alex and Kyle’s lives...field day 2020...COVID style. It was a Burger-Dreby day of fun and boys vs. girls competition. The day included the ceremonial national anthem kickoff, potato sack races (daddy won the adult heat), three legged race (daddy and uncle todd were victorious), balloon toss, 100m dash, tug of war, and hoola hoop transfer, and some others. In the end, the boys team had the most points and were crowned champions. At which point, we burst into a Queen montage. Everyone had a great time and I hope we continue this next year!!!
We also found out today that our offer was accepted on the lake house. By the end of June we should be proud new owners of 2045 Roamingwood Rd.
may 29th - life is good (74)
We woke up this morning and decided we didn’t have anything to do, so we went for a long ride up to Lake Ariel PA and looked at some houses. The kids liked mostly key aspects about the houses and were unable to judge a house in totality. Gemma loved one house because of the color of a comforter on one of the beds. Alex liked a house because of the hills and rocks were dangerous to climb. Lucy just ate snacks. Luckily, by the end of the day Daddy convinced Mommy that we did not want the one that needed a TON of work. We put an offer in on 2045 Roamingwood Rd while still standing in the driveway, crossed our fingers, and drove home for dinner with Beeps and Grandpa. Drank wine and watched the kids play in the sprinklers.
may 28th - road warriors (73)
If you see these three coming you better watch out...and hide your wallet. We gave it a go to support the local farmers’ market, which moved to a new location, but their snack selection was not up to Gemma’s standards. Instead we hit frutta bowl for a healthier, full-contact snack.
may 27th - bath time (72)
Mommy was compelled to scrub down all the porches and she was not alone. Gemma helped with the front porch and Lucy rolled. Her sleeves on the side porch. Gemma was so tired that she couldn’t make it on a bike ride, so Alex, Mommy, and Lucy hit the trail on their own.
may 26th - exercising rights (71)
We finally got rid of the tree that we have been praying would magically revive itself. Mommy got to choose the replacement tree (shocker) and the kids were happy to see James. Out of protest that the playhouse STILL isn’t finished, the kids built their own tree fort to have their lunch.
may 25th - socially distanced on water (70)
We got out of the house and onto the water for a fun day with friends. Alex was really excited to go kayaking with Logan and Lucas. Daddy and Gemma were in the party kayak with beer and music. Lucy was flying shotgun with Mommy and did really well. She even joined in at the end with all the boys throwing rocks in the creek. Beeps made us a nice dinner so the kids could play in the backyard to make sure they sleep really well...
may 24th - not so distant social-ing (69)
We had a Burger-Dreby day of fun in Princeton and it was just what the COVID doctor (didn’t) ordered. Perhaps not recommended for physical wellness, but our psychologist would have been pleased. Seeing the kids all playing and smiling together was what we really needed....and we got to celebrate Mommy some more!!!
