Today was Lucy’s halloween parade at school and it was A.MAZ.ING. She was so cute in her costume you just wanted to bite her. Mommy picked up Alex and Gemma and Emma from school to bring them to the parade and they had a great time. Gemma was so excited to have her bestie in the car and they were both so proud being the big kids at their old school.
october 29th - future scientist
Lucy made some models today and drew some biological constructs of DNA. She may have solved the worlds most complex issues...not sure yet.
october 28th - monday surprise
Gramps and Grandmum came to Princeton today for dinner. Lucy was happy to see them, but not willing to share her mini chocolate chip cookies.
october 27th - fall color
Princeton is beautiful in the fall...even if we are in the burbs, this time of year makes it a little easier. We got out for a nice walk/jog around the neighborhood today. Alex had to throw a football the whole time...Gemma was thirsty the whole time...Lucy HAD to run the whole time, and she was communicating with dinosaurs.
october 26th - burger/dreby day of fun
Soccer this morning with some nice weather and an afternoon/evening out with the Dreby clan. Hit a local hibachi restaurant and we had enough people to fill our own table...entirely too many children. Most kids liked the hibachi, some were anti-giant flames. After dinner, we went bowling. Daddy and Uncle Todd versus all the kids and we were victorious.
october 25th - friday fortune
Gemma had her class field trip today to the orchard and did some good picking. Mommy got to pick up her new car today and the kids were super excited to get picked up in it. Alex says, “I’m so glad that I can finally put my feet on the floor.” Pumpkin carving tonight at Uncle Frank and Aunt Amy’s house. Gemma had to gut Alex’s for him because he is a sissy. Lucy was just there to destroy cupcakes. Mommy helped a little on the creative end...a football, a black cat, and a heart.
october 24th - flu shot trickery
Mommy had girls night so Daddy had the marvelous opportunity to take all three children for their seasonal flu shot. We told them that we had something special planned and took them to the Montgomery location. They had absolutely no idea where they were until we were inside. Gemma and Lucy took them very well. Alex tried to make a dash out the door and screamed like a baby. We got some milkshakes next door to make up for our lies. They loved the statue of Albert Einstein in front of the office.
october 23rd - gemma’s possee
Never know who you will run into on the walk to school. GemGem loves seeing her friends in the morning and plotting out the day. Miss bossy.
october 22nd - scans
Lucy may become a radiologist when she grows up. She was loving this station at school today.
october 20th - sunday letdown
We went out for breakfast this morning and ran errands before settling in for football Sunday. A menu full of delicious treats and Gemma opted for Froot Loops. Once Lucy saw hers, she had to have some of her own. Eagles got smoked by the Cowgirls, so we thankfully had new pajamas for the kids to wear and bring a little joy into the evening.
october 19th - harvest time
We went out to run an errand with Mommy at the shopping center, so we made a stop for morning coffee and madeleines. Lucy was vertically challenged so had to improvise since she couldn’t climb into the high chairs. Spent the day on the farm with all the Burger cousins picking pumpkins and enjoying the outdoors. At the Stewarts this evening for a bonfire and fun. Finally got the chinese lanterns to work without starting a forest fire.
october 18th - relieved from duty
Mommy is back and Daddy is down. Evening watch responsibilities were transferred.
october 17th - need more coffee
Woke up a little late this morning to get things moving and Daddy was greeted by a righteous smell in Lucy’s dark room. Upon turning on the lights, also greeted by the visual below, which was Lucy and a second organism...big pile of smelly, wet puke. It was everywhere. She had to get an immediate morning bath and it meant Gemma was at risk of being 3 minutes late to before school dropoff. A travesty of epic proportions. Mommy, in Virginia, spared the dramatic turn of events.
Thankfully, Lucy immediately ate breakfast and was totally fine. Unfortunately, the working hypothesis is that she may have bad reactions to shrimp. We had sushi last night and she ate her body’s weight of shumai. Shellfish and Lucy apparently do not mix. Gemma got to make apple sauce today at Lucy was back on the horse, firing down slices at Nomad tonight.
