Daddy took Alex and Gemma to see the new Lego Movie this morning, so Mommy got some one on one time with Lucy. It has been a bit warmer this weekend so we got outside for a walk around the nighborhood. Gemma was really tough...she must have fallen five times off her scooter and just kept getting back up. They did get a little bored at the end of the day, so they did some decorating in Gemma’s room.
february 23rd - 10, 9, 8, 76ers
Mommy and Gemma had a girls morning to get coffee and pastries on their way to Newtown for a haircut. Gemma opted “to only get some cut off and not all the way to my shoulders.” In the afternoon, Grandmom Burger came over to watch Lucy so Grandpa could cash in his Sixers Christmas present. The kids had a great time going down to Philly with Beeps and Grandpa for the game. Alex was very into the game, while Gemma was very into the music and dancing during timeouts. It was her first game and she is already talking about going back. We think Lucy missed us:)!
february 22nd - crazy hair, don’t care
Gemma was super helpful today and helped Mommy make veggie muffins for Lucy. Partly because she loves to eat the herself. Lucy worked up a good sweat and then took a few laps around the bathtub.
february 21st - irish in feb
Grandmom Burger came over tonight for dinner, while Mommy had girls night, bearing gifts. A bit early for St. Patrick’s Day but the kids were willing to dress up. Lucy loves her headband.
february 20th - snow day...again
Another snow day in Princeton that unfolded slowly. Alex initially had an early dismissal announced last night and then we received a nice 6am phone message telling us we were stuck with a kid. Daddy went to work for a bit and dropped the girls off...temporarily. Alex got to go for lunch with Daddy to The Grill (his choice for a burger) and then we had to go get the girls when their school announced it was closing down. Quite a productive day. Eventually, we had to get out of the house for some fresh air and fun in the snow. Getting Lucy in her snowsuit was soooooo worth it.
february 18th - big brother
Alex is now reading stories to Lucy and it is really awesome to watch. She absolutely adores him and he gives it right back. Mommy had to go to NYC for a meeting with her CMO today 🤞. Daddy night means eating out and the kids picked the “place with the garlic nuts.” Lucy was not feeling the high chair so she took matters into her own hands.
february 17th - homeward bound
We are back in Princeton after our visit up north. Gemma is taking selfies and Lucy found a new seat.
february 16th - colossals?
Another day of fun starting with a morning at Launch Trampoline Park. Mommy and Daddy got to bounce too and may have had more fun than the children. Lucy was bouncing around a bit too and only faceplanted four or five times. We made it into Providence for a chilly walk through downtown area and a stop at the park. The kids had a blast playing on all the playground equipment. It took us a while to convince them to head home for dinner.
february 15th - cousin time
Gemma brought her appetite to Rhode Island and Lucy came ready to hibernate. Uncle Mike and Aunt Amy had to work today, so we hit Dante’s in East Greenwich for an amazing breakfast and vodka drinks at 9am...vacation! The kids must have asked us 100 times what time Ben and Will were going to be home so they could play. Lots of fun, lots of food, lots of wine, and a little vomit....Rhode Island.
february 14th - love day
Gemma was Daddy’s little Valentine today, which made Mommy really jealous. Lucy was everyone’s valentine and was handing out kisses all over the place. Mommy made heart-shaped pancakes, which mostly came out looking like male genitalia...still delicious. Alex was very excited about his Donald Duck goodie bag that he made at school. We went out for pizza before heading up to Rhode Island tonight. Gemma went off menu and ordered her own white pizza with ricotta and spinach. She was “in the mood for the soft cheese.”
february 13th - twinning
Mommy and Lucy rockin’ their matching hats today for the chilly weather. Lucy is really loving her accessories and leaves things on with no fuss. She also figured out how to open the animal crackers...very proud of herself. The kids helped Mommy bake some Valentine’s Day cupcakes to bring to Rhode Island tomorrow. Had to sample them to make sure they weren’t poisonous.
february 12th - snow day
State of Emergency declared for New Jersey and all the schools were pretty much canceled a day in advance of the storm. Mommy was hard-pressed for indoor activities, so she broke out the bracelet making kit Gemma got for Christmas. We think Mommy actually enjoyed making them more than the kids, as she was more engrossed...churning out friendship bracelets like a Malaysian sweat shop. Lucy has another ear infection and had her inaugural chopper brushing.
february 11th - cruisin’
Lucy is lookin’ flashy in her ride taking a cruise around town. She and Gem were BFFs today.
february 10th - first aid
Gemma spent lots of time today learning how to administer first aid and apply a full body bandage. Mission accomplished.
february 9th - slumber interrupted
The kids planned out a slumber party with Daddy in the basement tonight. They even put Gemma’s gymnastics mat down between them “so Daddy’s back wouldn’t hurt.” By Daddy’s bedtime, Gemma had scooched over to stay warm next to Alex on the gym mat, which ended up being a christmas miracle. At around 3am, Gemma woke up and vomited about a half pound of shrimp shumai in her bed....thankfully was the easy cleanup mat. Either way, not a good night...but could have been way, way, way worse.
february 8th - philly autoshow
We are raising a bag lady. She loved”s finding items to put on and things to stuff other things into. We picked up the kids today and headed down to Philly for the autoshow. Mommy was interested in looking at a bunch of new SUVs with some third row seating and more room. Alex and Gemma liked the utility truck, which we could just bolt seats into the back? Hit Santucci’s in our old neighborhood for some square pie before heading home.
february 6th - 100 days
Gemma celebrated her 100th day of school by bringing in a bag of 100 bowtie pastas for her to count. Lucy loves Nick, a teacher at her school that is on a campaign to get her in his toddler class.
february 5th - sisters
Gemma and Lucy’s most significant sisterly bond is their love of breakfast. The only time we can get both of them to sit still is when breakfast is on the table. Breakfast and carbs.
february 4th - schooled
The accesories continue with Lucy. Gemma is learning so much new stuff these days that we are regularly surprise at the knowledge she drops on us at random times.
february 3rd - two cuties
Her personality is amazing. She is so happy and we cannot wait to her full sentences from this one so we can understand exactly what is on her mind.
february 2nd - accessorized
Both of the girls were into the female accessories today. Lucy has discovered sunglasses and the art of looking cool. Gemma was prancing around in Mommy’s “boobie pads” and thought it was hilarious. Alex just stabds by and shakes his head...
