may 27th - weekend fun

Charlotte and Grayson came to hang at our house today. Grayson really enjoyed Gemma’s dress up materials. He balanced it out by carrying a football.

may 26th - mommy’s day out

Mommy went to Philly today with Aunt Tracey for a spa day and girl stuff. That left Daddy and Uncle Todd at home with 7 children. Thank god the rain held out in Princeton so we could let the kids run around outside. Three of four drebys took spills in the backyard within the first 10 minutes and hailey tried to eat a few rocks, but we got the kids fed in shifts and they all survived the day with their limbs intact. Mommy was not so lucky in avoiding the rain and getting out of Philly was a nightmare.

may 25th - daddy’s day out

Daddy’s first summer friday at work so Gemma benefited by being picked up early for a lunch date. We split her favorite pizza at Nomad...mushrooms and truffle. She also got some bent spoon ice cream and did not let a drop of it escape.

Mommy and Daddy had a date tonight to celebrate Mommy’s birthday at Brick Farm Tavern. Drinks at Mediterra and a responsibility free evening is just what we needed. Mommy wore a pretty dress and looked amazing 😍.  Lucky Daddy.  Two dates in one day.

may 24 - f is for...

Field Trip and Flowers.  Alex had his class field trip to Johnson’s Corner Farm today. He was very excited for it and even more excited to tell us about it. “First I rode the bus for 30 minutes and I saw Daddy’s office out the window, I fed some corn to the goats, went on a hayride but there was no hay, picked strawberries, had lunch and drank my whole Gatorade and water, and that’s it.”  Mommy and Beeps had their annual planting day. They spent the whole day buying and planting flowers while juggling Lucy. Lots of work but the result is a delight.

may 23rd - milestones

Lucy tried her first avocado today and she loved it. She is now spitting out the cereal and only accepting avocado. Mommy also took Lucy to get her very own ID for the princeton pool. She is now legal...just needs to learn the doggy paddle.

may 22nd - happy birthday mommy

Good thing we have Alex around to remind us exactly what our age is...it’s like he writes it down to rub it in our faces. The kids were very excited to give Mommy her birthday cards this morning. Daddy picked everyone up early and we brought mommy flowers. Alex picked out a cool pot and Gemma picked out all the flowers that went into her bouquet.  We had a mexican fiesta with strawberry margaritas, lots of avocados, and Kelly Cake....Mommy’s favorite. Gemma had an amazing idea to add homemade whipped cream to the Kelly Cake. Genius. She is an innovator.

may 21st - c is for....

Alex’s class has been counting down the remaining days of school and every day is a different letter of the alphabet. Today was C for crazy hair day. Mommy and Lucy continued their princeton long walk series today and finally made it over lake carnegie. Anti-climactic...but accomplished.

C is also for catastrophe. We lost our beaters after 17 years of peak performance. A sad day in our kitchen.

may 20th - i swing now

Fun day doing chores this morning around the house. Alex helped daddy clean the gutters and he was in his element climbing up and down the giant ladder. We had a long walk around town which included a mandatory stop at thomas’ for ice cream. Lucy had her first ride in the swing and we think she may have liked it....

may 19th - jack finds jesus

The girls spent the morning watching the royal wedding and the boys spent the morning making fun of the girls for watching the royal wedding. This afternoon we celebrated Jack’s holy communion in Allentown. Alex had a birthday party at his buddy Oliver’s house. Then we carried the party over to Uncle Frank and Aunt Amy’s house. Long day. Kids in bed by midnight. Child services was not called.

may 18th - mommy for three

Mommy bought Alex a new basketball hoop for the backyard since he is obsessed with shooting baskets ALL day. He was so excited we had to out it together immediately and take it outside. Mommy may have bought it so she could work on her jumpshot without Alex being able to block it.

may 17th - breffist

These girls love their breakfast. Lucy is still loving eating her morning oatmeal, even though she wears half of it. Gemma and Daddy had our weekly coffee date. Today was actually two days in a row because Gemma said “we haven’t gone in sooooo long.”  She has been saying all week “next time we go for coffee, I am ordering something special...I am not getting yogurt.”  When it came time to order her special treat...”yogurt please.”

may 16th - gimme

Lucy was excited that Mommy out out some cheese and wine for when Daddy got home from work. Apparently, she loves Sancerre because she was trying to get to it through the side of the glass. Had some Nomad for our weekly fix and cannolis were flowing.

may 15th - 😷 🌞 ☔️ 🌈

Gemma was not feeling well this morning so she stayed home from school. Somehow she made a magical recovery and had a fun day with Mommy and Lucy. They went to a baby read-a-long at the library. Lucy loved it!!  We had a horrific storm in the afternoon which was calling for “lime-sized hail.”  Thankfully we only had liquid precipitation, but still kept us inside. Gemma alerted us to the most amazing double rainbow we have ever seen. She told us like three times before we all realized there was actually a rainbow outside. Then she said...”I have been TELLING you.”

may 14th - stupid mondays

Daddy had to go to work early this morning so Mommy sent a nice picture to spread cheer. Grandmom Burger came over tonight for dinner and a visit with the kids. Alex made her play basketball for two hours.

may 13th - celebrating momma

It is mother’s day and there is no one better than our mommy. Lucy woke up early with Daddy to go pick out flowers and let Mommy sleep in a bit. Gemma was next to wake up and she was so excited to give Mommy her present. Gemma picked out her present all by herself and she even asked the woman at the store if she could get “the bubble bracelet” out of the display.  She is definitely Mommy’s daughter because she chose the most expensive thing in the case.  Alex got Mommy a matching pair of earrings which he was very proud of....great day...except for the weather.

may 12th - soggy picnic

Relaxing day at home this morning with nothing to do because the rain did not stop. Alex’s baseball game was cancelled so we had some indoor fun after getting a little extra time in bed. We went to Drew and Steph’s tonight for one last party at their house in Collingswood before they move. We all have too many damn kids. Gemma was Darth Vader and loved hanging with Addison and Charlotte. The boys were upstairs playing basketball with their shirts off and stinkin’ up the place.  Lucy passed out. Adults partied.

may 11th - best day of the week

It’s Friday!!!!!  The kids both brought home some handmade gifts to celebrate Mommy’s day this weekend. They were both so excited to give them to Mommy.  We had plans to go out for dinner but it was so beautiful outside we just hung out at home and ordered some Conte’s. Beeps and Grandpa stopped over for some good weather, drinks, and pizzer. Alex and Gemma got a roller coaster ride around the block in Grandpa’s convertible. Alex has not stopped talking about it.
