march 27th - uh, really?

Daddy and GemGem did our weekly coffee date this morning.  She knows she can get whatever she wants but somehow always makes the sensible choice...yogurt. She got lots of compliments on her outfit today. Mommy made an analytical decision to buy a stroller bag for Disney. Technically speaking, a great idea.  Practically speaking, wtf?

march 26th - could i BE wearing any more clothes?

Back to the grind Monday but still keeping things lite. Alex and Gemma had a great time at swim lessons and continued the fun when they came home. Somehow, while playing upstairs they decided it would be funny to see how many pairs of underwear Gemma could put on....apparently 21 pairs was the maximum.

We got our magic bands for Disney today. Kids are fired up.

march 25th - big girl bath

Gramps and Grandmum got an early wake up call this morning from the kids. A bit rough this morning after a lot of wine consumption. We went for a walk and had lunch at Surf Taco before they rolled back down to Amish Country. Lucy got a bath in the tub tonight with a couple of smelly older kids. Lots of laughs and lots of splashing.

march 24th - ready for the bunny

We had a big Saturday that started with an easter egg hunt in Palmer Square. Unfortunately, the weather forced the hunt to be held inside at the Nassau Inn, but it was still fun.  Alex got a lot of eggs, but Gemma went straight for the chocolate easter bunnies sprinkled all around the room. Gramps and Grandmum came to Princeton for an early, joint birthday celebration. We had a great dinner and Alex got a great present...two reams of paper. He now has 1000 sheets worth of creativity ahead of him.

march 23rd - a “gayle” afternoon

Mommy picked up Gemma early from school today so she could go and test out the mats at cousin Ryleigh’s gymnastics class.  She had a really good time and says she wants to go back and do it again. Lucy got to go along for the ride and watch.

march 22nd - she’s finally quiet

These days, this is about the only break you get from GemGem and her stories. Sometimes she will even open her eyes while sleeping and tell you a story. Makes less sense, but still funny.

march 21st - crap

Another Nor’easter hit Princeton today. We were a bit more fortunate this time around and only got 10 inches. Snow was just deep enough that Alex was able to dig out his basketball hoop and work on his jumper. There were both so wet when they came inside, but made it in to work on Alex’s birthday party favors. Tattoos, a mini basketball, stickers, and a gatorade. He’s pumped!!!

march 20th - photogenic

Lucy continues to impress with her sweet little personality. She also loves to blow spit bubbles. Alex and some of his friends were able to cash in the buzz bucks and pineapple points to have a special lunch with Miss Sampson in his classroom. He was very proud.

march 19th - swim day...sort of

Monday swim day. Daddy got to take them today and sweat out four pounds. Lucy stayed at home with Mommy in a more mild climate. Gemma was talking so much in class, the instructor had to stop asking questions and engaging the class. She literally does not stop telling stories.

Instructor - Who can tell me a rule of the pool?

Gemma - no running. Because if you run and you slip and then you fall down, you could die. This one time, my baby and I ran at the pool and then we fell down and got hurt and had to go to the “hostable.”

Yeah. This type of answer x 10. She doesn’t even respect the boundaries of a yes/no question. It’s a 30 minute class. 20 minutes of swimming and 10 minutes of Gemma talking. It’s difficult not laughing the whole time.

march 18th - breffist food

Another day, another adventure. We had brunch with Uncle Ryan, Aunt Erin, Ryleigh, and Luke this morning. Gemma and Ryleigh had a bit of a Pulp Fiction dance scene going on with bacon props. Alex beat every adult at the table, repeatedly, in TicTacToe. Lucy slept mostly and was very well behaved, with the exception of crapping in her pants. Jealous.

Gemma performed for Daddy. Wait for it...the end is the best.

march 17th - everyone’s irish

Everybody is rocking the green today. We went back down to Philly to go to South Bowl with the Angeluccis. Had to get in some green pancakes first so the kids poop can be irish too. They had a great time bowling with Drew. Gemma made us stop for cannolis at Termini before we left the city. Of course, they gave the kids free cupcakes so they went all in...Alex has his class pet, Honey, this weekend so the bear got the royal treatment.

march 16th - everybody...clap your hands

The long awaited sixers game. Alex has literally been telling his entire class, every day this week, that he is going to the sixers game.  Daddy picked him up from school and we went straight down to Philly. We went to happy hour with Drew, watched ncaa games, dinner at Hawthornes, and down to the Wells Fargo. Our seats were so awesome that we had a better view than Allen Iverson, who was sitting 5 rows from us.  It ended up being a really good game that came down to a final shot from Robert Covington to give the sixers the lead.

Mommy, Gemma, and Lucy had a girls night at Nomad. Gemma housed her typical mushroom and truffle pizza and put down her new favorite dessert...cannolis.

march 15th - proud

Impossible not to be a proud parent looking at this face. She has always been very alert and engaging, but her little personality coming out is amazing. Another proud moment at Alex’s parent-teacher conference today. His evaluations were tip top and his teacher could have went on forever about “what a joy Alex is to have in her class.”  She always knows Alex will be respectful and be a good listener so she pairs him up with people where he can lead the group through tasks. She was also so impressed with how amazing Alex’s ability to play and TEACH other kids how to play games.  Miss Sampson told us that SeƱor Blewjas has also been complimenting Alex for being a kindergartner with the maturity level to learn and play chess.  What a kid.

march 14th - dance

Gemma is back into the dancing action. Today she talked to Grandmom Burger on the car ride over and was super pumped to get inside and moving. She is really funny telling us “it’s Wednesday and Wednesday is my dance day...but no boys.”

march 13th - million $ smile

Gemma and her class have been taking advantage of the snow and getting outside for some playtime. Alex is taking advantage of being a big brother looking for cuddles with Lucy whenever he can get them. Lucy is on the verge of laughing and she really wants to talk.

march 12th - moanday

Lucy looks like we feel on this cold Monday. Looking forward to spring.

march 11th - time to fly

A fun Sunday getting the kids out of the house and over to SkyZone. We are having Alex’s birthday party for his friends at this location, so mommy wanted to do some recon. Alex and Gemma had a great time bouncing around on the trampolines....Alex went right for the basketball hoops. Went out for some Dim Sum afterward and the kids at all the dumplings. Gemma was a huge fan of the spring rolls.

march 10th - divide and conquer

Alex had his last basketball game this morning followed by a waffle party and book fair at his school. Gemma came to taste test the waffles with chcolate sauce and take a look around for some “gayle” books. Daddy and Alex rented a truck and went to pick up some wood, which he thought was amazing, while Mommy took the girls to Miranda’s birthday party in Flemington. The boys had more fun...beers and burgers at The Grill.

march 9th - friday smiles

Grandmom Burger came over to watch Lucy for a bit while Mommy went and got her nails done. It was a nice girls Friday since Daddy was at the office.

march 8th - digging out

We have so much snow that the kids got another day off from school. Gemma was using some suction arrows to navigate the yard. Daddy helped make a pretty good snowman since we spent a couple hours outside playing. Lucy drank hot chocolate...second hand.

march 7th - nor’easter

Spring is supposed to be here soon but winter is not finished yet. We got 18inches of snow dumped on us today and it ended up being a pretty serious storm. We lost power for a couple hours so had to organize our nighttime survival package. Thankfully, power was restored before dark and we didn’t have to have a 5-man slumber party in front of the fireplace.  The snow was so heavy that Daddy had to go out every hour and shake off the trees. Alex and Gemma even made it out to assist.

march 6th - comfort pizza

It’s monday and nothing makes us feel better than red wine and nomad pizza. Although, for Gemma it was this cannoli. She did not allow one drop of this thing to get away. Alex tried a root beer float, which quickly became Daddy’s. Somehow Daddy’s affogato was swiped in an even trade.

march 5th - two months old

Lucy is two months old and got in a visit to the pediatrician for a checkup and lots of shots. On the way out, Grandpa got a surprise visit at his nearby office.  Lucy is definitely our most petite baby burger.

Weight: 10.5 lbs (25%)
Length: 21 inches (20%)
Head: 15.5 (5%)

march 4th - princess time

The girls went to a princess party this morning in King of Prussia with all the female Burger cousins. Lucy and Gemma both wore some Ariel gear. Gemma had a great time seeing all the princesses and showing off her little sister. Daddy and Alex did some man stuff, which included sports, beer, and pizza.

march 3rd - road trip

Off to Millersville today for lunch with Gramps and Grandmum...and a rigged cooking contest. Great lunch at Iron Hill and an afternoon of SkipBo. Lucy’s furst time in Millersville so she was pretty popular.  Gemma had to take a dump in an emergency pulloff on the turnpike on the way home. Pure magic.

march 2nd - best big brother

Lucy is about two months old and Alex couldn’t be prouder. He is so great with her and is now picking her up and walking around the house.

march 1st - a storm is brewin’

Mommy and Lucy have been gettng around town for walks and running errands, but we are about to get hit with a big nor’easter. Hopefully we make it through with everything still standing.

february 28th - graceful gemgem

Gemma started back at her ballet school this afternoon and she was very precise. She has been dancing around all winter and she is very glad to be going back to dance her heart out. Lucy went along to watch and she was a big hit with the class instructor.

february 27th - lucy day

Lucy got to hang with mommy and daddy today for a marathon lunch and day drinking at the grill. Uncle Boogs and Aunt Amy came into Princeton for a little adult time. Oysters, booze, and shenanigans.
