Pizza at Stella always requires a race (or three) through "the tunnel." Daddy worked out a 10 second head start for Gemma but she still couldn't pull out the win. In her defense, she sprinted about 10 blocks on the walk over and had not had a power bar yet...also she blamed her jellies. Proper equipment is important.
june 22nd - for sale
The sign went up today. Sad and exciting at the same time. Alex and Gemma like the sign...as they do with most new things popping up unexpectedly.
june 20th - mondays
Our realtor is coming to take pictures of our house tomorrow for our listing, so daddy took Alex and Gemma out to dinner so Mommy could tidy up. Unorthodox napkin use. Pictures don't capture the giggling.
june 18th - good times with good people
Round 2 for decluttering our house in preparation for it to be listed next week. Alex was super pumped about getting to pick up the van with daddy, riding in the front seat, and going to Federal Donuts. He was the best helper this morning and was even carrying boxes out to load the van.
We officially have stairs in our house, which is way more exciting than it sounds. It is like magic to not have to climb ladders while holding children anymore.
We went to Newtown for a night with the Drebys. The kids had the time of their lives and stayed up until almost 11pm. The adults decided it was a sleepover night, so once the kids got their joint bedtime story we sparked up the bonfire. Booze, fire, and s'mores with peace and quiet after the kids collapsed from exhaustion.
june 17th - neighborhood activities
Music in the park at Cianfrani tonight. Had some pizza at Nomad and then watched the kids ride 75 different vehicles...with some tunes and a sunset.
june 16th - touching recommended
Jackie took the kids to the Please Touch Museum today for some fun and carousel riding. Mommy and Daddy went to see Guster tonight so Alex and Gemma got some extra special time for dinner with Jackie.
june 15th - tax dollars in action
Big day in Dilworth Park playing in the water and eating donuts. Gemma shows off her new suit. Alex throws caution to the wind and slams several donuts while topless. Confidence.
june 14th - bonds
The kids love going to say hi to Katherine and Gemma sits with her on the porch. Makes her day. She is going to be heart broken when we move. Katherine already started crying when she saw us loading a uhaul van last week.
june 13th - philly zoo day
Jackie took the kids to the zoo today...ON THE BUS...which may have been more exciting for Alex. They loved the big cats. Gemma was close to demanding a refund because the polar bear wasn't swimming in his pool.
june 12th - sunny celebration
Alex's last day of t-ball today. He has been practicing with his glove so he HAD to bring it today. He was playing a bit on the left side of the infield to show off his canon. All the kids got trophies. He is super proud.
We went to Millersville today to celebrate Grandmum's birthday with a day at the pool and a party at the club. Alex and Gemma socializing in their country club attire.
Gemma was like a fish today in the pool. She was even jumping off the diving board.
june 11th - 🈵🈲🈴㊗️㊙️🇯🇵
A stop in Princeton to check on house progress and a picnic in front of nassau hall for lunch. The kids had fun running around and creeped out by asian tourists asking for an impromptu mother-son photo op. Beeps joined us for snacks, wine, and ice cream at the halo pub.
june 10th - the second amendment
Took the kids to Johnson's Farm in south jersey for a car show. We thought Alex would love it and we were right on...Gemma pointed out every purple car she saw. Good times surrounded by a bunch of trump supporters. We were probably the only people there without and NRA membership.
june 9th - philly magic
We took the kids to the Magic Garden on South Street to take a look around at the amazing artwork. It has been a long time since we have been there and quite a lot has changed (in our lives, not the garden). The kids loved it...even though it gave us anxiety with them running around all the stairs and sharp edges.
Now....sober
2011....not so much
june 8th - summer nights
Gemma says every morning "A-ga (alex)...no school...summer." We think she is liking getting to spend more time with her brother now that school is over. We are also trying to get them out of the house every night. Tonight we descended upon Northern Liberties for some running and dinner. Alex really like the piazza and the open real estate.
june 7th - like ty webb @ bushwood
Lots of free stuff happening in the city this month. Today the kids went to Franklin Square to play the front nine of the mini gold course...and a ride on the carousel!
june 4th - so this is grass?
Got some things done around the house this morning to prepare for putting it on the market. Went to Collingswood tonight for a bbq at Drew's house. The kids seemed to take well to the back yard lifestyle.
june 3rd - alex the scholar
Alex's "moving up day" celebration was today at Schwartz Preschool. He and all of his friends at school sang songs and performed for the parents. His teacher, Miss Marjorie, reflected back on the year and spoke about what each of the children in her class taught her this past year.
"From Alex, I learned to be brave..."
We had a nice lunch with Jackie and Emily before heading back to Princeton to check on the house. The kids got to see their rooms, sit in their new bathtub, and sample some local honeysuckle.
june 2nd - i sail now
Finally got Alex out for his first swan boat ride at Spruce Street Harbor Park. He was very excited and did a great job navigating the boat...although his legs were too short to help paddle. Gemma was a bit too little for the life jacket, so she and Mommy had to stay on shore with the other landlovers. Ice cream helped ease the pain.
may 30th - america
Memorial day breakfast for Daddy and the kids at Morning Glory while Mommy worked out. Pretty uneventful holiday for us, but Gemma did manage to get in some grilled corn and hot dogs to kick off summer.
may 29th - lighten up day
It made Alex's month today when he was able to go with Daddy to pick up our rental van and ride in the front seat. He was very excited to show our 9-foot cargo van off to Mommy. Daddy filled up the van with a bit of our clutter to begin the moving process. It sucked! The kids had fun sitting out front and standing watch.
After we unloaded everything in Beeps' basement we went to a birthday celebration for Farrah.
may 28th - not so shady brook
Woke up today and got fired up to go strawberry picking in Newtown...but not before Gemma filled Grandpa's fountain with bubbles. Gemma was very well accessorized, but ruined her outfit once she got into the fields. She doesn't understand why she can't eat every berry she finds. It was a true experience...90 degrees and hard labor.
