march 28th - ladies' man

Alex is back to school after a week off for spring break and back into the swing of things. He has mastered persuading the ladies to wait on him at the playground. Impressive.

march 27th - the bunny arrives

The bunny came to Beeps and Grandpa's house last night and the kids were up and ready to follow their trails at 6:45am.  The adults were moving a bit slower due to "stranger danger night" hangovers. Alex only wanted the eggs...more so the candy inside. Gemma wanted to put on all the clothes and carry every bag.

Gemma's favorite is her new hat. Alex has not stopped talking about his wheel barrel.

march 26th - how many eggs?

Alex and Gemma were super pumped for their very own, personalized easter egg hunt. After the braveheart-style free for all we went to last weekend, they were happy to take their time. Especially Gemma, who opened every egg along the way to eat EVERY m&m contained inside.

Mommy and Daddy went to run house errands, so the kids made pizzelles with Beeps. Gemma also managed to find time to set the table before she went down for her nap.

march 25th - the weekend of jesus

Easter weekend kicking off with some fun in Princeton. Although, Gemma must not have received the memo on "good" Friday since she was everything but...Alex has balanced it out by being well behaved. Until, of course, he did a face plant on the sidewalk while sprinting on all cylinders and his temperament changed a bit.

Mommy finally got to see the progress on the house and even had a chance to stand in our future living room.  Gemma was all smiles for pizzelles and Grandpa.

march 24th - cement truck day

After close to a year of bedtime discussions with Alex about the logistics for pouring the basement cement, the day finally arrived. Daddy took off work to bring Alex to the construction site and watch. He was so excited and barely blinked while it all went down. The truck from Mershon Cement had an "M" on the side, which Alex said was an "M for mommy."  He insisted we bring his chair and we make a stop to pick up some butterscotch krimpets.  "I love krumpets because you loved krumpets when you were little, Daddy."

It was visual overload for him today...we had a giant dump truck delivery of back fill, two cement trucks pouring the garage/basement, the excavator was loaded onto a huge flatbed tow truck, and a huge lumber delivery was dropped off and unloaded with a forklift. If there were ever a day for Alex to be onsite, this was the day. He did not stop talking about it. The only thing that got him to quiet down was a giant plate of profiteroles.

march 23rd - zoo day

Jackie took the kids to the zoo today ON THE BUS. Alex was more excited about the bus ride than the zoo, but once they got there, their minds were blown. Alex talked about peacocks, lions, goats, and zebras. Gemma...ducks. And the elephants are gone "because they take up too much room."

march 22nd - the bunny is on his way

Grandmom Burger came down tonight for dinner and helped the kids dye easter eggs. Gemma was trying to drink the dye and Alex was slam dunking the eggs into the cups...exciting night to say the least.  Alex got a Rocky Paw Patrol truck and was crazy excited.

march 21st - breaking free of the cage

We changed Gemma's bed last night and she is now officially a big girl. First night she was in it, she decided to get out of bed and sleep on the floor next to her babies.

march 20th - happy birthday lucy & remy

We helped celebrate Lucy and Remy's birthday with a few dozen other screaming kids this morning at Philly Kids' Gym. Alex and Gemma go there all the time, so Alex gave mommy and daddy directions. He knew right where to take us, when to take off our shoes, and where to store them in the "cubbies."  They had a blast running around, bouncing, balance beaming, and snacking. Gemma still needed a PB sandwich before nap time, which was about as messy as her hair.

march 19th - hunting eggs

Stopped at the party store this morning to get supplies for Alex's birthday party. He was a real sport trying everything on since he was in the fun cart (daddy's). Afterward, we went to the Easter egg hunt at Shot Tower park. It was less of a hunt and, more fittingly, an egg gathering. Basically, just 2,000 eggs laid out in the field and when they released the kids mass chaos ensued. Alex was able to snatch up seven...could have been more but he only wanted red ones. Gemma got five...could have been more but she refused to pick them up and made Mommy do it. Barely made it out with our lives.

march 18th - we have floors

Framing of the floor box was completed today and the sheathing went on...we have what is starting to resemble the makings of a house.

march 17th - 🍀

Arts and crafts to celebrate saint patrick's day. Some green pancakes also helped the kids feel festive.

march 16th - these are the months of the year

Alex has been learning his months at school and today the teacher told Jackie that Alex volunteered to go up to the front of his class and sing the song.  He is very proud that he knows all of his months...even though he tends to forget September...end of the summer, who needs it anyway!!

march 15th - someone is ready for easter

march 14th - sick but fabulous

Gemma had a good night's rest, but Mommy took her to the doctor anyway so she could get checked. Turns out, she has the flu too:(  She is taking it fairly well...still running around and playing.

march 13th - another day without daddy

Another day playing for Alex and Gemma is coming down with the funk. Our foundation work continues to be finalized and prepped for the next stages. Exciting....but here comes the rain...right on time.

march 12th - jacked up weekend

Daddy is on his deathbed so Mommy and the kids blew out of town to try and prevent the spread. Alex got in some time at the office while at Beeps and Grandpa's house. Those damn red rocks.

march 11th - picnic time

The kids went to Rittenhouse for a little picnic time today. Daddy was deathly ill and spent a little time at Pennsylvania Hospital getting patched up.

march 10th - moves forward

It was a monumental day seeing our foundation walls being set, but pales in comparison to watching Gemma ride a scooter for the first time "outside."  She COULD not be helped and miss independent made it all the way to the grocery store...and a little inside the grocery store :)

march 9th - spring is here

A little dinner at Nomad last night after taking the kids to Starr Garden for some play time. Alex and GemGem wanted to get some ice cream on the way home since its "not wintertime anymore."

march 8th - gross

The kids went to the Academy of Natural Sciences with Jackie today. They had a blast seeing some of the special exhibits. Alex even got to be a spider.

march 7th - show n' tell

Some photos from Alex's recent show and tell at school. He took his camera into school and was very proud. We wish we got to see his presentation!

march 6th - gemma's special day

Gemma's special princess day was a success at the Nassau Inn in Princeton. She got to go with Mommy and her cousins, Ryleigh and Farrah, to meet princesses and have breakfast. To say she LOVED it would be an understatement. She was soooo good and well behaved, ate her own breakfast, did crafts all by herself, and ate her body weight in sugar. Gemma was such a goofball today...so happy and giggly. Like a switch went off in her head.

Alex did man stuff with Daddy, Uncle Ryan and Uncle Gary. Eventually, we all met up and had a mandatory visit to Halo Pub and then Beeps' house for naps.

march 5th - weekend visit

Gramps and Grandmum were in town last night for a Kinmel Center show, so they got a lot of quality time this morning with the kids. Lots of books and puzzles...which ultimately led to dress up. Alex is comfortable with his manhood.

march 4th - under the sea

Daddy blew off the morning and took Alex and Gemma to the Camden Aquarium. We had lots of fun seeing the hippos, sharks, little blue penguins, and fishies. Gemma didn't quite get the point of the turtle shell...

march 3rd - funny face

Wine night for mommy = kids night with daddy = FUN

march 2nd - questioning the details

The house foundation prep is coming along and we are getting close to scheduling the wall delivery. Alex and Daddy talk about the progress every night and he is very concerned about how they will pour the cement slab.

march 1st - museum day

No school for Alex today so the kids made a big adventure into the city to go to the museum. Alex rode his bike the whole way there and back...which is probably close to a 4-mile trip. His calves are getting huge.

february 29th - an extra day of play

Gemma went to playgroup today and had a blast. She is always very excited to tell us about about who and what she played with while at playgroup. She is getting so big and does NOT stop talking. Ever.

february 28th - batting practice

The kids went with Daddy to drop the car off for inspection, which led to a little playtime in the city. Got some smoothies with Mommy and then put to cuts on Alex's new bat. He hit off the tee for a bit and then said "daddy can you just pitch to me?"  We did a little BP against the fence and he was making contact. Proud!

february 27th - life experience

We had a monumental Saturday with some very proud little children. This morning, we took Alex shopping at the sporting goods store to get him some equipment for tee-ball. He picked out his own stuff and HAD to have a bat.  Amazing!

In the afternoon, Alex went with Daddy to his very first movie in the theater. We went to the film house on UPenn's campus to see 'Kung Fu Panda 3'...assigned seats, padded recliners, option for truffle butter on the popcorn. Not your average movie experience.

GemGem went with Mommy to the salon and got a manicure. She was very excited and very mature. Sat still while mommy got her nails done and then sat very still (and very serious) while getting hers done. Scanning for quality control the whole time.

february 26th - rain delay

After three days of terrible weather our hole in the ground is completely turned to soup. The kids may have well been playing their fishing game out in the lake that we now proudly own!
