october 30th - another day of play

Another celebration in anticipation of halloween. The kids got to wear their costumes all day with a start at the park and then tumbling class. Mommy made special ghost pumpkin pancakes to kick off the morning. Spider peanut butter sandwiches were also a big hit for lunch. Any time the crust is cut off is fantastic regardless of your age.

Seger Park had a special halloween party that we went to in the evening, however, the kid overload was enough to make us retire to a local pizzeria (with a bar). Mommy changed her order of a "glass" of pinot noir to a "bottle" without much consideration. Jackie, Fred, and baby Emily joined us for a nice night at Nomad. The standard hide and seek jog home from Nomad was in full effect. Alex almost peed his pants...he laughed so hard.

october 29th - gemma's masquerade

Gemma is the PROUDEST Abby Cadabby that has ever walked the earth. She went to a halloween party at story time today and she was an absolute trip. She told everyone she is "babby," had to show everyone her wings, and could not be prouder of her wand. Days like this make it all worth it.

october 28th - learning stuff

Alex has been working on letters at school so every night he and daddy sit down and practice making the letters he learned.

He is very good at "A"...because "it's in my name. A for Alex"

His "B's" are very creative and need a bit of work. He gets the general idea but execution is flawed. Alex's "B" is on the right :)

Gemma discovered pockets today...

october 27th - boo

Trying to carve two pumpkins at the same time with two excited children, hopped up on candy is difficult. Almost as tricky as keeping them both in the saddle for daddy horsey rides around the house.

october 26th - spooky monday

october 25th - flying solo

After a morning at beeps' house running around in circles and lunch with our contractor, daddy got to drive from Princeton to Philly (alone) for the 20th time this month. Good thing we stopped for a dump and a coffee to keep me company.

october 24th - the spooktacular

We took the kids to "smesame place" today for the annual halloween experience. Alex INSISTED that he wear his cookie monster costume for the whole day (until he got "very sweaty"). Gemma dressed up in her cat costume and loved her first time going on the rides...the teacups were absolutely hilarious. After lunch we went to beeps and grandpa's house for dinner (and halloween crafts), which turned into a marathon dinner that no one remembers.  Although, we all had hangovers to prove we were present.

october 23rd - no farm required

This is how city kids pick pumpkins...get your wagon out and drag them home. No fields or tractors necessary.

october 22nd - copycats

october 21st - mommy surprise

Mommy had to wake up really early to drive to Harrisburg this morning and she left the kids a nice m&m surprise to go with breakfast. Nothing like getting charged up with sugar at 7am.

october 20th - gemma's first princess

Grandmom Burger brought Gemma her first princess doll and she was ecstatic. She was making "eeking" noises while mommy was opening up the package.

october 18th - anti-bottle feeding

Gemma trying to breast feed her baby doll tonight...we could not stop laughing.

october 17th - happy birthday ben

october 16th - get 'er done

Busy day of party preparations over on old gilbert stuart drive. Daddy made some chili, Alex helped uncle mike make ben's birthday cake and Mommy replicated a fall setting out of better homes and gardens. Ben and Gemma played with all of the toys...including ben's new choo choo train present from Alex and Gemma.

october 15th - fall leaves and porn flicks

We headed up to Rhode Island today for cousin Ben's big 1st birthday weekend. The kids were really good on the trip and were very excited to get to play with Ben. Alex and Gemma like being the older cousins showing Ben the ropes. Gemma apparently thought she was a lot older, since she ordered a porn flick on the TV while we were in the other room. Only cost uncle mike $17.

october 14th - ready for the work site

Alex's new boots came which are dual purpose. 1) they complete his halloween costume that he requested..."construction man" and 2) he NEEDED boots so he can go to the construction site at our new house. We talk about our new house every night at bedtime and Alex tells us tales about the colors for every room, the demolition he is going to do, and how he plans to pour the basement slab with a cement truck, which is "very dangerous."

october 13th - buds

Mommy in DC so it is a daddy day with the kids. Daddy had to wake up at 3am for work today so it was a pizza night, which had to get hosed off in the tub.

october 12th - whatchu lookin' at?

october 11th - a day at the farm

Annual trip to Johnson's Farm with all of alex and gemma's friends. Hay ride, apple picking, pumpkin picking, and cider donuts.  Gemma wanted to eat everything she picked and finally dug into an apple on our ride back to the store.

october 10th - officially fall

We took the kids to sister cities park today for a fall festival and some pictures at the rodin museum. We went through a pound of m&m's to get them to stay still and smile. Alex was super excited about taking a horse drawn hay ride around logan square and Gemma was in love with her balloon heart.

october 9th - hair trouble

october 8th - opening night

Mommy and daddy had a night out with gramps and grandmum for dinner and the philly pops at the kimmel center. Gemma wasn't the only one who passed out early.

october 7th - little old lady

Gemma loves putting on mommy's shoes and going about her business. Anything that will fit in her stroller eventually makes it in there for a ride around the house.

october 6th - bones

october 5th - happy birthday grandpa

october 4th - parking cars ain't easy

Mommy had to go to a bridal shower today so daddy and the kids had playtime at home. While Gemma was napping, Alex and daddy made a parking lot. The cars had to be separated enough "for the doors to be able to open."  After we were done Alex asked if daddy could take a picture before Gemma "wakes up and ruins it."

october 3rd - happy birthday kyle

october 2nd - cuzzies

Ryleigh came down for dinner tonight with uncle ryan and aunt erin. The kids had movies going on every tv and pretty much took out every toy ever manufactured.  alex stayed up until 10pm and he was very proud.

october 1st - it's october

Alex and his honorary sibling. Both Alex and Gemma love them some Emily. They get to spend lots of time together and Gemma talks about Emily all weekend when she is not here.

september 30th - little bag lady

Sometimes Gemma closely resembles a homeless person moving all her belonging about in her stroller. Today she was weating a princess dress with her rain boots and rain coat because it was drizzling outside...and she needed a hood.  Backpack because Alex was going to school and she thought she was too.

september 29th - happy birthday beeps

september 28th - pick me a winner
